Love One Another

If we truly love someone then we will want to serve them, with our whole heart and soul. We wont care what others think. Even if it means others laugh, judge, or criticize us for how we do things.

Update on Eric!

Well, he is doing fine. He really needs prayer still though. The Army is moving him to either TX or CA for therapy and recovery. He has a long road ahead. Pray that God will put all the right people in Eric's path to show him God is with him and helping take care of him. Pray for all the men and women suffering from this war depression problem. They need to not only get help but they need good help and the right therapy for them not a one size fits all therapy program. All of our military deserve our support, prayers and kindness.

Please keep Amanda in your prayers as well. She really needs to be able to settle down somewhere and get a job to help support them.

Thank you all for your prayers and keep up the great job.

Urgent Prayer Request!

I just received this email from Sunday. I don't know all the details, so just pray as God leads you. I have been posting prayer for Eric on this site and my others off and on for the last 6 months. He was in Iraq 3 times and the last time was more than he could handle. Amanda is Sunday's daughter and Eric's wife. They have a baby boy named Hayden.

Amanda called right before noon to say that Eric overdosed on his paid meds. He is in intensive care on a breathing machine and we don't know if he will make it or not. I'm getting ready to fly out to Colorado Springs. Will keep you informed. Just please pray.

Dustin and Me

Just thought I would share this picture. It was taken last month when I drove all the way to Fort Hood to delievery a computer to my son. Isn't that nice of me. I didn't get home until 12:30 am.
However, after looking at this picture I think I need to lose some weight and work out. Would any of you like to be my accountablity partner in working out and firming up my old lady arm?

A 13 year old......

Okay, So I am listening to Mike Gallagher online right now. He had a young man on his show. He is 13 and very smart. He got into study politics when we was 8 years old. Here is something from his website.
A Conservative is someone who believes in

1. Life
2. Personal Responsibility
3. Less Government
4. The Founding Principles

These are the basic principles of Conservatism, but they each require an individual in-depth analysis. Now that you understand what the basic definition of a Conservative is, let's discuss what this book is about a bit more.

http://defineconservatism.com/

Mike asked him what he thought about Powell saying Obama should be president. He said is because they are both black men that he is endorsing him. He also went on to talk about "Carternomics" and "Obamanomics" are the same. During Carters presidency we had a huge recession and if we vote Obama in we will do it again.

Check him out he is very smart.

Good Job Dustin!

Yesterday day Dustin bought his first car from a dealership. He was so excited.

I tell you what! The young man who helped Dustin was awesome! He was so easy to work with. (I found out yesterday that he is a Christian) Last weekend we went to Fort Hood to help Dustin look at cars. We went to several dealerships and test drove several cars. The Toyota dealer was 2ND on our route. The first dealership was a jeep dealership and this is what happened: we drove up, we didn't even get out of our car and the man was on top of us. This man was "master of the obvious" he looked at us and then looked at Dustin. He looked Dustin square in the face and asked "Are you in the Army?" This is code for "I am going to stick it to you son!". He followed us everywhere we went. We had to ask prices on the cars we wanted to look at, which I hate! Why can't they put the prices on the cars? At the end of our shopping trip I had to ask for a card and I had to ask him to write the price down. Dealership 2 was much better. Dustin told him what he wanted and the guy showed us what Dustin was looking for. He let us go for a test drive and stood back the whole time. He then gave us a print out of the price, tax, tilte and total. He shock our hands and we left. Then we went to a 3rd dealership. Where I sat with the kids and talked to Mrs Cindy on the phone. Doug and Dustin went riding around with a "New" salesman and test drove nothing after 30 minutes or so. We left.

Dustin decided he really could use the car that he ended up purchasing. He made a very adult choice. He test drove a Scion sports car and the Scion xB. He decided it would be best if he purchased the xB. He said the sports car would have been to much temptation for him. How awesome is he!

Just so you know the xB is huge inside! It also has a built in cooler! How cool is that?

Are Americans Ready to vote.....?

Okay, So I recieved a call from Aunt Chris yesterday. Yes, she does call me. It is not me always calling her. She was laughing and told me I needed to hear something. So she tells about a clip she had just heard on the radio from the Howard Stern Show. After hearing I decided I needed to share it with yall. Please remember this is Howard Sterns show, so if you get offended easy dont listen to it. He does say the "f" word about 5 times. You only have to listen the first 3 minutes to get the idea.

Prayer request!

I have received many prayer request over the last few days. I decided I am just one person and the more praying the better that makes me feel. Please pray with me!

Okay so I started my week with a second cousin having a heart attack (age 45). He is currently under going many test. When I called my other cousins (who had a heart attack 2 weeks ago age 41) wife to tell her she told me one of the other homeschooling fathers in her group had a heart attack. What is up with all of that.

I have a friend in Hawaii who is going through a lot of things can always use your prayers. Her name is Cindy.

My husband told me last night that his job has slowed down since the bailout. I know God will provide for us. My prayer is that the people of the US will slow down and not freak out about this bailout. If everyone starts freaking out the economy will suffer even more.

I received a prayer for Doug's cousin Cassie because her and her husband where pregnant 2 weeks ago. The doctors heard a good heart beat 3 weeks ago and the following Monday they didn't hear one at all. They are not able to have a baby the natural way so this is even harder. They had implanted 2 eggs, 1 took and 1 didn't. Now they have lost both eggs. Please pray for them and the next eggs that are implanted. Pray her body heals 100% from the DNC she had at the beginning of last week.

Now, this email came in this morning from one of my 2 favorite sister-in-laws. This is her best friend Patty who has had many ups and downs with this pregnancy.
As many of you were aware, Eric and I were expecting our first child together. What many people did not know was that early tests indicated the baby had biological markers for
potential genetic abnormalities. Unfortunately the doctors were unable to find the baby's heartbeat this morning. As you can imagine we are devastated and are trying to make sense of why this happened. Please know that we are doing as well as can be expected and have lots of family and friends to support us but continue to keep us in your prayers.

Patty

My other favorite sister-in-law needs prayer for her little sisters wedding this weekend. Prayer for one of the brides maids sisters is sick and the doctors are clueless. Just pray that Gods peace be in everyones heart.

******Dont forget Eric, Amanda, and Hayden. Eric is a awesome army man trying to deal with what all he saw over in Iraq. Please keep all of our military in your prayers.

I know God is in control of all these situations. Everyone of these families love God and he loves them. I know God will provide for his children who follow him.

Shane and Hazel

Hello family and friends,
it's been almost 2 months since I gave out an update. Shane has been doing increasingly well. His doctors are amazed at how fast his recovery is going. He no longer has the blood clot but in order to take the necessary precautions he is taking Lovenox, an anticoagulant or better known as a blood thinner.

I'm so proud of Shane. No matter how badly injured he is, it won't stop him from anything he puts his mind to. As some of you may know, Shane was restricted from bearing weight on his left leg for 3 months. This was in July. Shane being strong headed decided he was going to start walking. He still can't run and he walks a bit slower but he is working on his walking. There are times when he just needs a rest. His left femur has healed wonderfully. But his knee remains the source of his pain.

As for Shane's hand, he is missing all but one of his knuckles. Shane has been working with his hand and he can now pick up things with his fingers. His grip is pretty strong regardless. Shane still has many hand and knee surgeries.

Shane and I returned home to Hawaii last week Tuesday. Shane has had appointments all week. I had the blessed job of cleaning the house. It was so wonderful coming back home. My family was there waiting at the gate along with Shane's 1-14 Golden dragons and the Warrior Transition Brigade.

The kids have grown up! Laela's hair has grown so long and Wyatt talks like a grown up. They all ask a million questions and Wyatt likes to throw us some big words every now and then. Shane Jr. is not only walking but he is also running around and getting into everything. I'm so proud of my little family. God has blessed me so much.

Thank you everyone for all of your prayers. You have no idea what they mean to us. Remember, sometimes, no news is good news.

God Bless,
Hazel
